Thread deletion.

Why are you being so heavy handed on the thread deletion when it isn’t breaching guidelines? Most of the threads I have posted on this week have been deleted for stupid reasons and I’m getting fed up of it.

The most recent one being the shop keeper one. We are adults here, not children.

Hi Nickynacky,

We know it can be pretty frustrating when we delete a thread, but it's usually only after we've exhausted other options - we'll ask the OP if a retrospective name change would help, or editing out any identifying details, or will suggest moving the thread to the 30 days only topic, for example.

Sometimes we'll take a thread down because we feel it's deliberately inflammatory, meaning it's in breach of our Talk Guidelines, but usually we'll try to do what we can to let the conversations flow.

Not sure exactly which shopkeeper thread you're referring to, but if you drop us a line at [email protected] with more details about it, we should be able to explain why it was deleted.

Apparently you “couldn’t see it going anywhere”.

It was the Covid coughing shop keeper thread.

I wondered about that one as well. Agreed it's been pretty heavy-handed this week.
