App not working

Can’t get onto app as it just shuts down.

Hi @JaneJeffer we've spotted the issue!

The Talk app like thousands of other apps uses the Facebook as a log in option, unfortunately their engineering team have made a large mistake, and every app using their code is currently crashing, which is very embarrassing for Facebook. I'm hoping they will resolve it within an hour or so.

I think it's been resolved again now. If you're still getting crashes, force quit the app and reopen.

Just came on to say same. Most annoying. I’m not logged in with Facebook though so why am I affected?

I’m on iPhone using do I need to uninstall and reinstall? What a pain!

I downloaded the app but prefer to use safari to use MN. But the app is constantly opening itself and flashing “Oops”. It takes 7 or 8 attempts before it finally closes, then 10 minutes later it will randomly open up again. I think I’m just going to delete the app.

That's exactly it. I'm not sure why it's still affecting some users, but it should be resolved soon. One of my devices is now fine, the other is still crashing.

It’s still crashing but I have made myself look super tech savvy by explaining to my 21 year old why his apps are crashing thanks to @TimMumsnet Grin
