Thread subjects are showing escaped HTML

Sorry if this has already been reported but I’ve noticed loads of threads recently where the subject is showing the escaped HTML rather than the intended characters.

Is there a fix scheduled for this? It’s making some subjects really difficult to read.

Hi @Simonsaysitschristmas, is this on search results screens or the topic list? Also could you let us know whether you are using the website on a desktop/laptop or a phone or the iphone/android app? If on the website, if you could paste the URL of a page where you see this, that would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi @tech

I see it on the topic lists, but when I click into a thread it’s fine. For example I see it on www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff

I’m using the website on an iPhone XR (Safari browser)

Thanks. That's very helpful. I can see the issue. We should be able to fix it in our next update - most likely early next week. Thanks for your help.

Tech · 09/07/2020 14:43

This should be fixed now @Simonsaysitschristmas. Thanks for the report.

@Tech This happened to a new thread that I started. It contained quote marks and the second quote mark was escaped HTML.

I reported the post to Mumsnet asking if the title could be tidied up, which seems to be in hand:

"Thread deleted

Message from MNHQ: We're taking this down whilst we fix the format problems. A new thread should be along in a mo"

@Tech My thread, mentioned in previous post, has still not re-appeared:

Hi @MoleSmokes I'll pass this on to try find out what's happened.

MoleSmokes · 19/07/2020 15:03

Thanks. If it has got lost, please let me know and I will re-post it.

MoleSmokes · 19/07/2020 17:33

@Tech - it's OK about the thread I posted.

I have reposted it with more info and have avoided using quotation marks in the Thread Title this time Smile
