Mumsnet Jobs - 80% Avon

Why are 80% of the jobs on the MN Jobs board for Avon sales reps? Avon is a pyramid scheme - why are they are allowed to use your board to trawl for more victims to lost money?

I emailed a bit back about this, and got a response that someone would 'look into it'. Well, they'll all still there, and I think it's shameful.

It is. Particularly now, with furlough, redundancies, and lack of school/childcare hitting women hardest. This is preying on the vulnerable.

Avon doesn't fit with mumsnet's intended demographic, it doesn't do anything for feminism or progression, and it's cheap and stereotypical that jobs for mummies = Avon ladies.

HQ, can you put something in place to stop the jobs board being monopolised by 1 or 2 companies?

I thought Mumsnet had taken a very sensible stand against MLM?? Right now MLM like Avon are exploiting virus related employment insecurity by promising stable and decent earnings - this is all lies and I think it will be a great shame if people are damaged financially, emotionally and socially by a female targeted scam sold to them on Mumsnet.

I agree, and 'please email us again' is a bit rubbish MN. How about just looking into it now?

Just an update on this - there was an error on the site with these advertisements and it has now been fixed. We're really sorry for any inconvenience that this caused.

There are still over 1700 “jobs” with Avon on Mumsnet. Surely the error is that MLM “Jobs” appear at all? I’m wondering if your advertising revenue has been affected to the point you are prepared to let any dodgy snake oil company advertise here?!
