MNHQ anti-racist statement

Could we please have a statement from MNHQ explaining their policy with regards to racist content on this site?

I recognise the challenge for a user-driven community as you don't control what content is created, however your users should have a clear understanding of the extent to which hate speech and racist comments will be tolerated. We can then decide whether our values are consistent with Mumsnet's and if we want to continue using the forum.

Apologies if you've already released a statement and I've missed it, but I couldn't see anything prominently displayed (which in itself is noteworthy, given the current climate).

Agreed OP

I know that Mumsnet don't care (that's obvious from the discourse allowed on the site), but I thought that they'd at least pretend to.

Hi @NamedyChangedy,

So sorry for the delay here.

Please be assured we don't tolerate racists posts on the site, and will always delete them when reported to us.

As there are currently several other threads which are asking similar questions, could we please direct you over to this one Effective measures against threads that encourage racism and misogyny where Justine has this afternoon posted a statement about our current moderation approach.

Please feel free to join in on that thread as it's probably easiest if the issues are all raised on the one thread. Many thanks.
