Anyone else getting a persistent Vodafone pop up when clicking on threads this morning?
It’s making the site unusable.

Yes - the one I get is for EE. I'm on a MacBook. Having to use app on phone instead.

PinkBuffalo · 07/06/2020 09:15

Mine is for BT. Less of a pop up but goes through to a whole new web page Saying I apparently won something. It is very persistent! Every time I.click on something this morning on mumsnet

PinkBuffalo · 07/06/2020 09:18

Me too but mine is for Sky!

tanstaafl · 07/06/2020 09:24

Yes.
iPad using safari.

It’s not a pop up, it replaces the pages you’re reading and you can’t get back.

PepeSkunk · 07/06/2020 09:27

Yes, I've had to come on the app to get away from it. I'm using safari.

PinkBuffalo · 07/06/2020 09:31

fairydustandpixies · 07/06/2020 09:42

I had this a couple of weeks ago for Vodafone. It stopped after a few hours, only happened on the MN site and only using a PC with chrome.

whatashower · 07/06/2020 09:44

Its a safari browser hijack. Apologies I started another thread. If I recall correctly you will need to delete the individual cookie to eradicate it.....or clear all your cookies and history which is a mega pain in the arse. Happy and hopeful to be corrected on that.

GreyhoundzRool · 07/06/2020 09:44

EE here same problem

Vodafone pop up.
LilyMumsnet · 07/06/2020 09:46

Hi folks,

Thanks so much for raising this. Keen to get this sorted ASAP.
We've passed it over to our tech team now but in the meantime, please can you continue to let us know what devices and browsers you're using?

AnnieJ1985 · 07/06/2020 09:49

Virgin media Ireland here.

I went into my settings and turned pop ups on and off again, and it has been ok since.

CarrotCakeMuffins · 07/06/2020 09:50

I just got one for Virgin, I'm using Chrome on a mac

Institutkarite · 07/06/2020 09:50

I'm getting this from something called KCom, using an Apple laptop.

JennyWreny · 07/06/2020 09:58

Virgin media pop up on Mac using Safari. Didn't take screenshot I'm afraid.

Institutkarite · 07/06/2020 10:29

This is driving me up the wall. I've tried everything to get it to stop.

LillianBland · 07/06/2020 10:36

I’m getting this on my IPad, using Safari.

Vodafone pop up.
Institutkarite · 07/06/2020 10:39

@LilyMumsnet
This site is not usable now. I've downloaded the latest Safari update, switched off and on. I've disconnected and reconnected to my WiFi and it's still happening. As other users are getting different telecoms pop ups , it's your problem not ours.

LilyMumsnet · 07/06/2020 10:44

Hello,

Our tech team has had a look and we're not able to locate these adverts - we'd really like to get them blocked ASAP.

Can we ask for URLs to the ads? Please click the ad with wifi and data turned off - that way, it'll load the link without actually loading the advert.

As ever, we're really sorry for the inconvenience and please do bear with us. Flowers
