Problem with photos on the app

When people post photos on threads and I open them up, I can't get them off the screen. I press the x in the top right corner to no avail. I can spend five minutes trying to get rid of the photo off the screen and often have to give up and come back to it the next day and try again. Eventually the photo goes off the screen.
This has happened so often over the past few weeks that I hate opening up photos in case I get locked out again.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Thank you. It's still happening.
I panic and think "I'll be stuck with this photo on my screen forever in Mumsnet and won't be able to see all my other threads."

Hi @LadyEloise - that sounds really annoying!

I'll look into why that's happening, a few things to mention though:

• Have you tried swiping the image away? If you swipe up or down, it should disappear
• If for some reason the image still won't go away, force quit the app and reopen. The image will have disappeard (although you'll lose your place I'm afraid). If you aren't sure how to quit an app, follow these instructions

Yes I swipe up and down and across. I ta the x button and nothing. Photo will still be there.
