Search function - can I go to specific post

Is it possible to jump to the specific post that comes up when you search? Whenever I search and then click on the post result, it just takes me to the start of the thread. Then I have to scroll through that thread to find the key word I was looking for. It makes it impossible t0 find specific things. E.g I was looking for a socca recipe, found a reference on a thread, clicked on it and now have 40 pages of posts to go through to find it . Amy search tips that will help?

Sorry for the delay - some of us get this issue on our home computers too and some of can get straight to the post in question by clicking on the username instead of the post title - maybe it is a browser thing? We will ask our tech team to take a look. In the meantime if you display all messages on the thread and then control+f or apple+f you could look for the specific work.

I get this I too. If the message is on the first page of the thread, clicking the username works. If the message is on a later page then I just get taken to the start of the thread.

@EstherMumsnet thank you. Sadly I cant display all messages on one page, max 100.its the same whether I'm using the app or searching on my phone. Will try on my laptop and see if i have the issues there too.

Our tech team have told us that if you wait for a few seconds after clicking through it should then take you straight from the top of the thread to the relevant post. If this doesn't work then can you send us the url of the page so we can check - this is should have a # and some numbers at the end.
