How to make SN threads appear in my active convos?

I opted in when that was an option years back, but realised a while ago that I no longer see anything from the SN board in my active convos and can't find a setting to change!

How can I change this? Thanks ❤️

SN threads no longer show in active, due to their sensitive nature (trolls often head right over to active).
Sorry that we couldn't be more help but if there's anything else we can do, just give us a shout.

Oh. I didn't realise. I live in 'active' .... I'll have to open another window to monitor the SN boards

That's a real shame, is there no way to make them appear in active for posters to whom they are relevant? Did they really attract more trolls than AIBU or the pregnancy boards?

Can they not be made opt in again? That would cut out the opportunistic trolls surely?

That would be amazing, thank you. Obviously I know I can go and look at the SN boards but it's not the same as having threads appear in active conversations, and as there are about 8 boards they all need checking seperately which I just don't always remember to do.

SN threads appear in my active convos! You need to opt in though.

Here's a screenshot of my active convos. As you can see I have SN threads appearing.

What? Why can't you opt in any more? I'm opted in, hadn't noticed that they had disappeared though. I know MNers with SN is broken and never appeared in active even if you had opted in, which is an issue for me as (ironically) the reason I'd visit that section also means I don't remember to separately check that section!

I know about opting in, and I am opted in, or at least I was. I opted in as soon as it became an option years ago. But now, SN no longer appears in my active conversations and I can't find any option to opt in

@AndOr do you know how I can opt in if for some reason I've been opted out? Until maybe 12 months ago I did see SN threads on active conversations but now I don't!

I don't know, I've just had a look under "customise" but the opt in to SN section is no longer there

There was a glitch on mumsnet about 18 months ago when all SN threads disappeared from active convos. I don't know if this was done deliberately or not.

Lots of people (including me) complained about it repeatedly - you might be able to find the threads about it on site stuff) - and it was eventually restored. And like I say mind now works. But clearly not for everyone.

When the glitch happened I noticed the SN section became v quiet, and its never really recovered so this would explain why.

Its a shame because that section is one of the main reasons I visit mumsnet, but whatever happened 18ish months ago has kind of ruined it.

I certainly won't be subscribing to mumsnet gold edition (or whatever they're gonna call it) when basic stuff like this doesn't work for the section of mumsnet that need it.

Well I think it's really crappy. SN posts should not be hidden away, I want to be able to see them!

Yes the SN boards are there in my included topics.

The SN boards are all in my supposedly included topics too, I've just checked.

SN threads don't appear on my included OR excluded.

There's another issue which is that the long-running SN chat threads don't appear in Threads I'm On on the iPad app. This may, however, be due to the length of the thread as I did have one other thread that disappeared from TIO.

For those that are opted in but not seeing the threads in active, can you let us know what devices/browsers you're using?

Galaxy S7, latest version of Chrome. But I don't think they show up on my laptop either, or if I switch to the desktop site on my mobile.
