Is it just me or are mumsnet deleting a load of threads recently?

Maybe it's just a coincidence that I read volatile threads. I don't know. It does seem to me that a lot of threads are being deleted recently. I'm quite new here, just wondered what people though really?

You’re not wrong.

There's been quite a lot of goady threads lately and there's also a trend at the moment for an OP to start a thread (usually asking AIBU), swear blind that they're totally reasonable, become rude to posters who disagree and then flounce / get the thread deleted.

I wonder who the head honcho is? Who pulls the trigger?!Wink

@lolasmiles

MNHQ used to be quite strict about reasons for deleting threads - the mardy OP had to at least post something that was vaguely outing so they had a reason to delete first. 😉

Doesn't seem to be the case now. I wonder if it's paid subscribers that get this treatment? Hmm

There's been the odd one that's just vanished into thin air. I've been either watching them or they should have been in 'threads I'm on' and they've disappeared off the face of the earth completely. I can't find them anywhere.

Unless I'm losing my marbles, obviously.

ItsGoingTibiaK There's definitely a sense of flounce and get a thread pulled now that didn't used to be the case.

There's also a difference in OP conduct on threads that get pulled where an OP can be belligerent and then if people challenge them then the thread gets pulled because the OP doesn't feel the thread is helping them any more.

Irritatingly, some goady threads are allowed to stand.

Hi, thanks for your reports. We'll look at all reports on a case by case basis, including requests for deletion.

If you do see any threads that you feel break the guidelines and that have been left to stand, then by all means, just drop us a line at: [email protected]
