This discussion came up on another site stuff thread and I wondered if you could clarify if paid MN staff post on mumsnet as ordinary members? Or are they banned from doing that? Thanks.

We've already established that Night watch staff are unpaid.

SeriouslySoDoneIn · 13/04/2020 17:52

@faithinallisee good thing OP specified paid members of staff then eh?

WorraLiberty · 13/04/2020 17:54

Yes, MNHQ have always been very open about the fact some of their staff post under different names..

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2020 17:55

Why would that not be ok?

faithinallisee · 13/04/2020 18:03

@SeriouslySoDoneIn Sorry you are feeling snarky today honey

alloutoffucks · 13/04/2020 18:36

Okay thanks, I did not realise that.
Yes of course it matters and no I don't like it.

Why don't you like it?

Voxx · 13/04/2020 18:40

I would expect that some of them absolutely do. Why would it be a problem?

alloutoffucks · 13/04/2020 18:47

Because I could be telling someone they are BU and then half an hour later they have the power to delete my posts or ban me. Surely you can see why that might be an issue?
And perhaps it explains some of the bannings that I have been really surprised at?
Similarly there are others that I am really surprised are not banned. Maybe they are paid staff?

Why does it matter if they do?
Surely that’s like saying if you work in a pub you can’t ever drink at that pub.

alloutoffucks · 13/04/2020 18:48

@LochJessMonster I have known pubs say that actually, because it gets difficult if the person is too loud or being a pain. But at least in those cases as a punter you know who the staff are whether they are working or not. Here it is all hidden.

Is this a TAAT? Why would they delete/ban you? Unless you are posting something that breaches TGs? Sounds like there's more to this...

Pleasebeafleabite · 13/04/2020 18:51

There are some very obvious click bait threads. I would be amazed if some of them were not MN started for traffic

alloutoffucks · 13/04/2020 18:55

@Sparklingbrook This issue of whether paid staff post as ordinary members was raised in another thread. I don't expect MN mods to plough through threads answering every question, so I started a new thread about it. There is no more to it.
Why should I be banned? I have already explained a scenario where you disagree with a poster and tell them their are BU on AIBU, they could if they are staff be annoyed with you, and ban you.
