eu.visitorrecordcanada.xyz/2c8423f65139ff53ea9ad5ece9855842/index.html? (url snipped)

This site is loading randomly when i'm browsing MN. It's a dodgy "congratulations virgin media customer you've won a draw blah blah" obviously complete rubbish. Only happening when I'm on MN.

can you have a wee peek, @mnhq?

Thanks for flagging this, @PineappleDanish.

Can you please let us know which device you're using to view Mumsnet and also which version of the site - desktop/mobile/app? The more info we have, the more quickly we can track it down.

Also, is it popping up randomly or only when you click on a new thread?

Thanks in advance!

I'm using google chrome on my laptop. Desktop version. Have just rebooted and run a virus check which isn't coming up with anything. It appears to be a redirect from the main page of AIBU. Hasn't happened since I rebooted though. Possibly an issue on my end.

Will keep you posted but thanks for the very speedy response!

No problem at all. And thanks for all the details, every little helps... Smile

If the ad pops up again, please shout!

MrsJonnyWilkinson · 04/04/2020 11:53

I got this too about 10 minutes ago on an AIBU thread and last night my anti virus was blocking various ads on the site. I'm also using Chrome on a laptop. My antivirus has not picked up anything at my end so must be here

WinterIsGone · 04/04/2020 12:33

Chrome on desktop - ad popping up randomly. I'm ee broadband, and the ad is tailored accordingly.

clearingaspaceforthecat · 04/04/2020 12:41

Also getting this - only when on Mumsnet. Chrome on laptop. Supposedly BT prize.

Optimist1 · 04/04/2020 12:57

I've had similar, claiming to be from EE (my broadband supplier). Chrome and laptop here.

JoMumsnet · 04/04/2020 13:40

Ah, it wasn't a one-off, then. Sad

Thanks for posting all these useful details. We've flagged this to our Ads team and will be back with an update as soon as we can.

Optimist1 · 04/04/2020 16:39

@JoMumsnet - just thought it worth mentioning that my IP address was shown on the screen that offered me the EE prize.

merryhouse · 04/04/2020 16:50

I had it as well - BT, Chrome on a laptop

PineappleDanish · 04/04/2020 17:39

Yes my IP was showing too - I snipped the link which I posted in the OP. Hasn't happened this afternoon again.
