Please can you temporarily stop trending

I have hidden the Coronavirus topic and yet threads with frightening titles keep coming up in trending. It doesn’t hide the threads from there, only from active.

Also even if you hide a thread it still come up in trending.

Thanks so much for raising this.

The trending box isn't related to hidden threads, so stuff you've hidden may end up there. Can you try refreshing it? It's a very hot topic at the moment, so there's not much that we can do in the way of limiting it on the boards.

If you download Adblock plus for your browser you can block the whole trending box so you don't see it at all - I did that the other day after somebody else mentioned it on a thread, it's really made a difference to how I feel.

How do you block the Trending box? I suspect you can't using the Adblock pus app on an iPad as I couldn't see many options

Thanks for the tip, I've downloaded adblocker but no idea how to block Trending

Just right click on anything you want to block and select 'block element' - you will see trending disappear in stages and have to block each bit until the whole thing goes.

@soupdragon that's on a laptop, I don't know about on an ipad - I use the app and not the webpage.

Could someone please tell me how to hide the whole coronavirus section? I only seem to be able to hide individual threads

You go on the desktop site click on the arrow at the top next to talk and then click on customise. Then you scroll through the topics and add them to hidden topics.
