This isn't a taat but aibu to find it incredibly annoying when I go to my "watch list" and a thread I've been following has suddenly disappeared. I'd prefer MN to leave it on my watch list so I can at least see the reason for it being deleted. Especially when I can't remember the name exactly so can't find it and see the reason for it suddenly going!

I agree! Maybe it might be worth getting this moved to “site stuff” where this sort of discussion usually takes place and MNHQ willsee it.

Normally it stays on my watch list except the replies are now listed as zero & there is a comment or two from MM about.

It is v annoying, esp when I've given a lengthy reply to something!

The only one(s) that have disappeared completely, I think, were ones relating to Meghan Markle

Oh it doesn't stay on mine at all. The whole thread disappears and I woke up this morning and now don't know what happened with one I was reading - happens all the time

Will ask for it to be moved to site stuff

it will disappear from a watch list, but stay if you add a post, which is why a lot of people put a crappy following type post

Thank you moving the thread MN!

Now can MN tell me why a certain thread got deleted (this is just the most recent one of my list not all of them) the one with the wedding seating plan hen do etc just want to know if she was a troll or it was too outing!!

If a thread has been deemed worthy of deletion by MNHQ could it be locked so no more comments can be made? After a period of say 12- 24* hours so everyone on all time zones gets a chance to know it is about to be deleted and the the reason for said deletion it could then be zapped. It is incredibly frustrating to come back to find it’s gone.

*unless there is an immediate worry of danger to OP where it needs to go immediately
