There are so many threads on here that it would really help if you could hover over each thread with the cursor and see at least the first part of what it is about without having to open it. This is possible on lots of other forums.

What an interesting suggestion - I certainly like it!

We'll flag to the development team and see what they say. One issue that we could imagine popping up is the cross-over of devices (so whilst this may work well on desktop, maybe not so much on mobile or tablet). That said, it really is a great idea and we'll make sure the team has a chat about this.

I'm sure your not interested in horses but you can look on the Horse & Hound Forum without having to be a member to see how it works. You can also "like" posts which saves hundreds of people just posting to agree and this cuts the number of pages in threads (there is no other option to "like" so there's no risk of it becoming similar to FB!!).
