Acronym finder won't turn off.

I've had this issue a few months now and it's really getting irritating (keeps writing things like 'OH (other half) dear, that's such a shame' and 'Take that with a pinch of SALT (Speech and Language Therapist). I untick the box, click save and find it automatically ticks itself again. I'm on the website on a Motorola G7 using Chrome. Please help!

If you write the same sentences in a text message does it do the same thing? Maybe it’s your phone dictionary settings ?

No... I do have basic computer and phone literacy skills! The bits in brackets only appear when I'm reading posts in a thread, not when I'm typing them.

My acronym finder always turns itself back on too. Despite unselecting it.

Can we check you're viewing the mobile site in mobile site mode, and not in desktop mode?

How would I check that? It doesn't have it as an option in either talk or profile settings. Don't most websites just switch to mobile site mode automatically when they detect that you're using a mobile device?

@BecauseReasons scroll to the very bottom of the page and click “desktop site”. It should then look very different to the mobile site. To change it back scroll to the bottom and change it back to “mobile site”.
