YouTube videos

Not sure if it’s just me but I can’t play YouTube videos in threads anymore. I tried to watch something but it didn’t play so I had to click the actual link to take me to the YouTube site. The video had actually been removed so I thought that was the reason it wasn’t playing but it’s happened twice since, including a video I have literally just posted on another thread. This is on the main site through my mobile (but not the app).

Can you send us a link to the post with the video on it? Then we can see if it's embedded or not, and if it's just you!

Could you also let us know what device and browser you're using?

I am using an iPhone6. It might just be my old phone but wanted to raise it just in case as I wasn’t sure why I can play the videos on the actual YouTube site and app but not through a link on a thread when I was able to before.

And I can’t play either videos on that thread, not just the one I posted.

I am on my mobile (iphone6) using the site, not the app.

It might just be my phone tbh. I haven’t seen anyone else mention this

If it is a problem your end, it's sometimes worth seeing if you have any updates due to run on your phone. In the meantime, we'll keep an eye out to see if this is causing issues for anyone else.

@CarolineMumsnet thank you but it might be worth deleting this thread as I am also having this problem on other sites, despite me updating YouTube app this morning, and as nobody else has mentioned it it is probably just an issue on my device rather than your website
