Why do some threads just disappear with no deletion message?

I was on the two threads by the same woman, about her husband having an affair and calling all the shots. They've both disappeared for some reason. However there's no deletion message on my TIO. Just no sign of the threads.

The OP hid the thread, perhaps?

SingingLily · 20/01/2020 06:03

The OP asked MNHQ to delete it.

But when a thread is deleted there's usually a deletion message in your TIO isn't there?

Hi OP,

Thanks for raising this.

You should always see a deletion message, unless a thread is deleted for 'breaking talk guidelines'.

Can you let us know what device and browser you're using, and a screenshot of the deleted thread in question?

We'll look into it!

Thanks for replying @LilyMumsnet

So what I've now discovered is that those threads are still there, but despite my being on them they don't appear in my TIO. I'm on a pixel 2 and chrome.

This happens with deleted messages for me when using the app (iPhone). They disappear from my Watched threads & no deletion message. If I log into site on the web, I'll see them / message.

These threads turned out to not be deleted though. Just not in my TIO. I found them on the active threads.

Profile, I find some threads that should be in TIO are only in 'watching'. I've raised it, but no joy.

MyOtherProfile · 21/01/2020 23:47

That's really interesting. Thanks for telling me. I'll look in watching next time.

There was a thread yesterday that was quickly deleted with no deletion message: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/parenting/3801001-hey-ya-ll?msgid=0#0

I'm on the mobile browser site, Android.
