Mouse click not working

This is a weird fault that I have had on this site for quite a while, but because it is intermittent I have not got around to reporting it before.

Periodically it is as if my mouse click simply doesn't work within posts. I can't:

  • select text in an existing post in order to copy / paste
  • if I am typing a post and want to go back and change something I cannot position the cursor using the mouse I have to use the arrow buttons.

To be clear, my mouse is working perfectly OK for everything else.

This issue seems to come and go. I had it just now on AIBU which prompted me to report. But first I tried on a different forum (Telly Addicts) and all was well. So I went back to AIBU and it was now OK there too!

Has anybody else experienced this?

Hi OP

We've not yet had any other complaints about this. I think I know what you mean - everything looks as it should but the click isn't registering?

We're happy to look into it. Can you let us know what device and browser you're using to access the site?

Hi

I am using Edge on a Dell XPS running Windows 10.
As I said, it is intermittent. As I type this it is fine but the issue occurs quite frequently

Hi OP,

Is there any way that you can test this on another browser for us, so that we might have a chance of narrowing down on the issue?

5foot5 · 15/01/2020 23:07

Well I will try but given the intermittent nature it might take a while.

Thanks, @5foot5, we'll wait for an update from you. Smile

I have tried in Chrome and not seen this issue. But obviously not conclusive given intermittent nature.....

Still happening. Happened just now on a AIB thread but when I came out and went in to a different thread it was OK again.

Does nobody else see this?
