Royal family threads

Can these threads be moved to a royal family area which I can hide as they are taking over the site, it's like reading the daily mail comments section. SadAngry

I second this, I've never hidden so many threads in my life. Can't the people who want to drone on and on and on and on and on and on about this be sent to an area the rest of us can ignore?

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2020 11:34

I agree, it's getting ridiculous now. Some of the threads now have a Part 3. Hmm
Make a new topic even.

Chemenger · 13/01/2020 11:39

I now see there is an actual Royal Family section, with not a single thread about the current topic. PLEASE MN, move these endless threads there.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 15/01/2020 08:36

Just scroll on. If a thread has Harry and/or Meghan in the title, don’t open it. I can’t see why people make this into such a drama.

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2020 09:37

There’s no drama here but plenty in all the Harry and Meghan threads. One even has ‘acts’.

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2020 09:38

If the threads did have Harry or Meghan in the title that would be a good start though. Lots don’t.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 15/01/2020 09:38

There’s no drama here but plenty in all the Harry and Meghan threads.

All of which you can simply scroll past. The subject is not exactly a secret.

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2020 09:40

Hide thread is a great function. I have never used it so much as this week or so.
Hide topic is even better though. Grin

soniamumsnet · 15/01/2020 09:42

Hi, thanks so much for raising this. We know it's a pretty hot topic at the moment and lots of users want to discuss. We're keeping an eye on the running threads and will make edits, deletions and move threads to the Royal Family section as and when needed.

There's always the option to hide a thread too. Flowers

Samcro · 15/01/2020 10:10

i really do find the threads interesting. it has really shown me another side to mn, the hate filled threads about a woman and a mother are just so crazy.
hiding the thread is fine, but then you miss seeing how hate filled and obsessed people are.

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2020 10:13

That’s a good point actually @Samcro you could see some posters true colours coming out.

iVampire · 15/01/2020 10:14

Hate posts should be deleted, so I hope you’re reporting them

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2020 11:00

I am just hiding the threads as I go now, hopefully the people over involved in the threads are doing the reporting.

Samcro · 15/01/2020 11:23

@Sparklingbrook its a bit like the awful wheelchair on buses ones. horrid to read, but at least you see what people are really like.
don't bother saying anything other than nasty about MM as you just get ripped apart.
I still wonder how most of the posts are in the "spirit"
I remember being deleted for saying stuff about Cameron that wasn't deemed in the "spirit"
yet a woman and a mother can be vilified like this. odd.
(goes back to normal what funny thing does your child do type threads)

SecretWitch · 22/01/2020 14:22

I will say again, it is appalling that MN allows threads which vilify a young mother.

I do want the comments to stand as we can then see who truly is racist and unhinged.

Roussette · 22/01/2020 14:30

SecretWitch

I agree. But when I said that on one of the thread I was sharply told that Meghan is 39 and not a young mother and it wasn't up to me anyway.

I've reported posts, I've reported threads. I feel, from the replies from MN to my reports, that we now have to police the threads or they just go by unchecked. No doubt me saying that will have avid Meghan haters saying they don't need policing and just stay off them if you don't like them.

But it is bullying, nasty, uncalled for, and not in the spirit of MN.

SecretWitch · 22/01/2020 21:21

@Roussette, It’s crap, isn’t it? You know they would be outraged if this were happening to their sister or friend. I really do think people have lost their damn mind over a young family making a decision about what is good and right for themselves.
