Why are MN allowing vile, personal attacks to remain?

On several threads from yesterday evening and overnight there have been posts which are absolutely, unequivocally personal attacks of the vilest kind against other MNers.

Many of us have been reporting them since 10pm and yet they are still there.

Do you really not care?

I'm starting to think MNHQ is so left-wing that it actually approves of the disgusting, abusive rhetoric. Why else would you let it stand? These posts are extremely easy to find.

2 threads to start you:

Exit poll - the relief!!!!!
Dear Cobynistas

Why on earth would your first assumption not be that a UK company doesn’t have staff on well outside of normal working hours?

slipperywhensparticus · 13/12/2019 07:18

Yes I've reported some I did say I was leaving if they allowed this shit to stand clearly they care as much as boris

slipperywhensparticus · 13/12/2019 07:18

Night watch? They are unpaid but still exist

DixieFlatline · 13/12/2019 07:21

If they’re unpaid they’re hardly ‘Mumsnet’, are they? As in - not a reason to draw conclusions about Mumsnet’s position on anything, surely?

DowntownAbby · 13/12/2019 07:25

Yes, the Night Watch team are there.

We know how quickly the Mail and other rags pick up stories from MN. They will have an absolute field day if they go looking in those threads for post election left-wing nastiness they can report on.

You'd only have to do a quick search for 'cxnt' to find some of the most appalling posts.

Yes. It’s pretty dreadful on the dear Corbynistas thread. Come on MNHQ.

Bluntness100 · 13/12/2019 07:30

Suspect it is just a staffing issue and they will go this morning, vile attacks like we saw last night usually don't stand.

DowntownAbby · 13/12/2019 07:51

@bluntness yes, probably so.

I'm just not used to seeing personal attacks left to stand for so long on here.

I reported a couple of posts I thought were really dreadful. But not possible to report all those which were insulting/goady/aggressive

I do think MNHQ needs to decide what is fair comment and what is gratuities nastiness and then do something about it.

Though one anti-Labour thread has been deleted in its entirety, there are many posts remaining along the lines of 'Tories are all thick cunts'

So where generalised attack evokes deletable insult might depend on who is being insulted

KatherineJaneway · 13/12/2019 08:27

The Dear Cobynistas thread has been deleted.

Oohaye · 13/12/2019 08:31

It’s about Mumsnet deleted these comments. Getting called ‘murderous cunts’ wouldn’t be tolerated anywhere else. It’s getting more vicious on here and it’s giving Mumsnet a bad rep.

Moomin8 · 13/12/2019 08:45

The OP was goady though and intentionally so. Although that doesn't make personal attacks ok, of course. Taking the whole thread down was probably the best idea tbh.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 13/12/2019 09:21

Hello @DowntownAbby - thanks for posting and we're really sorry that it's taking us longer than usual to get to reports. We are really busy right now but we're working at full pelt to clear the backlog. If you've reported a post or thread - rest assured we will read it and get back to you.

Samcro · 13/12/2019 09:25

i am curious. there seems to be one poster who either has joined to stir or nc. (think JC in name) do mnhq do anything about that type of poster?

Moomin8 · 13/12/2019 09:26

Only if they appear to be a previously banned poster @Samcro ...

DowntownAbby · 13/12/2019 10:10

Thanks @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet

I'm sure there's a lot to work through after last night!
