Hi is it possible to avoid seeing 'autism speaks' adverts?

As an autistic person and someone who doesn't agree with anti-vax ablism, I find it quite hard to cope with

Hi there SuperLoud,

Thanks for getting in touch. You should be able to just hit the cross on any ad you don't want to see but obviously that doesn't always stop it appearing again.

We've had a look at the concerns you have about anti-vax messages and it looked to us like the organisation has a strong message that vaccinations don't cause autism. (www.autismspeaks.org/what-causes-autism).

If we've misunderstood you, though, please do let us know and we'll happily have another look at this.

MN I can see why. I have known this to be an issue for a few years now so I can understand why some may complain

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 01/12/2019 11:53

I already know they're a dreadful organisation which doesn't listen to actual autistic people so pressing a cross (tricky on a small smart phone screen btw) isn't really going to change anything.

Vulnerable parents of autistic children who dont know about how they work shouldn't be exposed to their harmful narrative.

Thanks, Rosepetals

She’s not being pathetic, she’s speaking up

Why don’t you take your own advice and stop being pathetic CymaticPrincess88. If you don’t like a thread, ignore and move on.

Scautish · 01/12/2019 12:30

As an autistic person I object to this horrible site that does not act in the interests of autistic people.

But I have learnt that MN doesn’t care about anti-autism posts/links or its autistic users.

(And I have the emails from them to prove it!)

CymaticPrincess and I’m not really sure why you felt the need to post. You seem quite immature.
