Tired of having to scroll down

An email arrives alerting me to action on a thread I'm on/watching. I click on the link to the thread.

In the past : the thread would open in a new window and the system would automatically scroll down to the newest activity.

For the past couple of days : the thread opens OK, but I have to scroll down manually . Clearly no biggie, but you miss a nice function when it's gone!

(Laptop, Chrome, Windows 10 if that's relevant)

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I flip the thread to show newest post first?
