Help us to improve Mumsnet antenatal and postnatal clubs

Over the next few months we are hoping to make some changes to our antenatal and postnatal clubs to make them more useful and easier to use.

Through feedback we can see there’s currently a disconnect between the antenatal and postnatal clubs on the boards. Users start threads for their due month in antenatal clubs and these threads are fairly active during pregnancy. Once babies are born, the Mumsnetters don’t always move over to postnatal clubs and the conversation often dwindles (we’re sure that’s also due in no small part to the astonishing time consuming nature of newborns..).

You’ve suggested it would be more useful to have clubs that cover both the antenatal and postnatal phase so that once the babies are born users don’t feel the need to move over to a different topic to continue the discussion. With this in mind we plan to change the name of the topic to ‘birth clubs’ because research has shown that this is the most widely used term. We also plan to combine antenatal and postnatal clubs into one topic.

We’d really welcome your feedback on this because we want to get it right. There are many more areas of the clubs we plan to improve, but this is the first idea we’d like to test, so your feedback is important.

Please leave any feedback below about this or any other changes you’d like to see within the antenatal and postnatal clubs.

Thanks

MNHQ
