Rude people

Am I alone in this!? Seriously why are people so rude!? People have come here for a network right? To ask questions get answers advice and different perspectives, right?

Then why are so many people so rude, disrespectful, belittling, and argumentative?

I'm so irritated at how a conversation turns into a catty high school debate.

Seriously, your so mad at my opinion that you need to cuss me out and call me stupid? Then I say this is ridiculous and I don't need this and another comes back with "so it's all about you"

Lmao you know what yes this is about me, you guys have made it about me and me saying "as a new mom I don't need this" on a chat doesn't negate the chat group topic or the concerns of the mum who posted , it is simply a reply to those who felt the need to attack me.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Did you mean to post this in Site Stuff?

mistyy · 24/11/2019 20:33

Ya I couldn't find a topic heading that fit well

Might be better to report and get it moved to chat? I'm not sure you'll get many replies here.

Although just to warn you, this sort of thread is done every couple of days.

My advice is to just tune out the rude people. For every rude poster there are 100s of politer ones.

That's the thing about the internet, it's no different really to walking through a packed shopping center. You're going to meet all sorts of people. A complete mixture of cranks, weirdos, drunks and nice people.

Lol true, I guess I expected more from this site. I've felt kind of alone since having my Dd and was looking forward to connecting with other moms and venting , talking about kool things , and just general conversation. But yes the internet .... lol thank I'll change my outlook on this and keep it push'en

Avoid AIBU!

Try Relationships & Chat and other boards of particular interest - Telly Addicts, Gardening etc

But yes the rudeness and general pile on can be distinctly unedifying

Hi OP, sorry you haven't found Mumsnet to be helpful. We see our role as making parents' lives easier. Hopefully this will be the case for you too if you have a look around and find some threads and topic areas that interest you.

Ginger1982 · 24/11/2019 22:13

AIBU is notorious bun fight territory. If you don't like that then definitely try some different boards.

Babyg1995 · 24/11/2019 22:16

There are some horrible people on here I would never ask anything on aibu or relationships I stick to the pregnancy chat or light hearted stuff.

mistyy · 25/11/2019 03:44

Thanks ladies great advice I never new about aibu I'll definitely avoid it now.
