Google update - links not changing colour in Trending

Using Chrome on laptop.

Chrome has updated. I am now unable to see which threads I have read in Trending Now because the links stay blue. I hate this because I keep opening the same threads over and over. I have previously suggested that hiding a thread should also work on Trending for this reason.

The titles in Trending are also spaced further apart which is much nicer to read but I suspect not intentional, or perhaps it was like that before for everyone else and I have just caught up?

Same on Safari, and the links are formatting strangely (as attached)

Still happening on Chrome/laptop. Getting annoying now as I keep accidentally reading the same things over and over and over....

Same for me, Google Chrome, HP laptop

Still the same.

Last time it happened I rolled back the Google update but I can't keep doing it.

Surely there must be a fix??
