Running One's Own Business

Where's the area for this one?

I've had a looksee, but no joy, so either I'm batty (perfectly possible), or it's hidden away somewhere, or there isn't one...

I'm really hoping it's not the latter as I'm sure this site is aimed at ensuring the users are at the top of their game and helping them get to where they want to be, both emotionally and financially.

I shall await with baited wotsit for the response, and hopefully a point in the right direction Smile

You can post anywhere you want about any profession related challenges. Relative to tue specifics of the question

I've not seen a specific area for 'i run a business'

Do you need one, to be on top of your game?

There are plenty running their own businesses that contribute very ably to support others with similar challenges in business

From cleaning material to law statute. It depends what you want.

Maybe MN would consider it, but lack of it would not keep you off the top of your game?

Are you in a very niche area that few would have parallels with?

Hello @MrsMozartMkII - thanks for posting - we're looking into this for you now.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet Thank you Smile

TruthOnTrial Thank you. Some interesting points. I'm thinking a section where all the setting up, running, and support ideas come together. So many people on MN could benefit from running their own business, but struggle to find out how to start, and once started and therefore no longer eligible for the start- up support, how to keep going and to grow. Mentoring, networking, legal etc., all in one place.

Might this be a bit a lot like hugh exposure advertising though?

I do totally understand the benefit of share business models and accounting tips, marketing strategies, personnel issues, interciew techniques and so on.

That is a huge place on its own, just like 'parenting' is. Then I suppose legal is a potentially vast topic of its own, but mainly its used for mners posting their personal legal issue.

Maybe its a good business venture?! Grin
