I haven’t had an email to tell me why. Why not?

MrsMaiselsMuff · 20/10/2019 09:34

Was there not a deletion message?

MrsSnippyPants · 20/10/2019 11:22

Nope

Hi OP

Please drop us an email at [email protected] - we're happy to have a look and see what's going on here.

MrsSnippyPants · 20/10/2019 12:31

Why do you need an email from me @LilyMumsnet ?
Surely you can see my posting history and see the deleted thread without me sending an email?

OP posts:
MrsSnippyPants · 20/10/2019 13:04

I’m not being goady, I just really don’t understand why you need me to email you.

Hi MrsSnippyPants,

We tend not to trawl through users posting history as it makes us less efficient at replying. We can see you've posted in several Feminism threads so it just speeds up our response time if you email us the details.

Thanks for asking though - we don't mind explaining.

This was a thread I started about Always, so I can’t send you a link to it as it has been deleted! If I email you I can’t tell you any more than I have told you here.

There was threaf deleted on chat about the same subject...the deletion message was. Message from MNHQ: There seem to be a few threads on this topic at the moment, and we just need to check a few facts out too - we felt best to remove while we look through everything. which seems fair enough.

nottodaysatanlucifer · 20/10/2019 18:50

I've had this before. Had comments deleted and wasn't told anything, anything I wrote didn't break any guidelines. When I emailed I was told "because it wasn't in spirit"

What a load of bullshit.

Pick and choose what they want to delete

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/10/2019 22:26

All the Always threads have been deleted. There were three or four of them. One had a ‘not in the spirit’ message I think. The others said they needed to check things out. This is puzzling since most referred to a media article in the Fail and the information contained therein. Will we be able to discuss Always if it is found that the reports re those products and their packaging are true?

Aridane · 20/10/2019 23:09

The one in AIBU was deleted for virulent transphobia 'not being In the spirit'

MrsSnippyPants · 21/10/2019 09:11

So now we can't discuss things that have been reported in the national press? Okaaaaaay.......... Hmm

I've had a thread deleted in FWR today without an email so it wasn't just you, OP.

I started the thread in good faith to highlight a potentially worrying crossover between incel and trans ideologies - neither of which are good for women. I am a semi-regular poster in FWR although not a prolific thread starter.

@MNHQ, I do hope that deletions do not count as 'strikes' if the poster is not informed of their deletion?

AnyMinuteNow · 04/11/2019 00:40

Its important to get an answer on this!

I am wondering how discussing sanitary wear can be transphobic Confused really. What sanpro is to do with anything trans? But then everything does seem to be transphobic!! Jeez.

MoleSmokes · 05/11/2019 13:56

Why are you asking members to email Mumsnet @LilyMumsnet when they can PM you and, if I understand correctly, all mods can read all PMs between all members?

Or is that precisely why you are asking people to email rather than use the PM function?

Or some other reason? It would be helpful to know why Mumsnet wants Mumsnet members to go outside of the platform in order to communicate with Mumsnet.

AnyMinuteNow · 13/11/2019 12:10

Maybe @LilyMumsnet isn't getting her emails, others haven't been Confused

I also wonder why emailing is necessary, but it does give a lot more current information to MN than the pm system.

AnyMinuteNow · 13/11/2019 12:14

Theres one going at the moment thats all about hating on celebs faces

If anythings not in the spirit that isn't FFS Hmm

Posters adding they they want to slap, punch, etc. Hateful and very trollish. The sort of thing to be avoided on MN. Some names repeatedly, and all apparently sponsored by lovely MN!

That IS in the spirit of MN

GloriaMumsnet · 13/11/2019 13:23

Hi guys, please do drop us an email if you've got questions about mod decisions. As Fliss and Lil have said, it just speeds us up responding as we respond to emails in a shared system as they come in. Emailing is the fastest way to get a response. Thanks!

Here's the email address: [email protected]

AnyMinuteNow · 14/11/2019 18:49

Yeah, have done. No response.
