threads disappear, but no deletion message?

I posted a lot on a thread about 11+, nothing there that was against guidelines, and perfectly harmless thread.

Go out for an hour, and come back, thrwad and vanished, but I don't even get a deletion message? Thread was still open on my computer and when I refreshed the page it just said
OOps, can't find that page.

This isn't the first time.
If there was a deletion message it was up for no time at all.

It is really frustrating to not know why it has vanished. Was it a troll? Was it something I said?

Grrr.

I've noticed this too. @MNHQ what has happened to the deletion messages please?

Yes I've noticed this too. I click on a thread in active threads but just get a blank screen on the app. Tried on browser and just get the oops message.

We do usually post first to let folks know we're deleting it, but thanks for the feedback - perhaps we could leave the deletion message a wee bit longer before zapping.

I don't like it either. Is there any possibility you could lock a thread instead of deleting? I don't always get the chance to read a long thread until night time. It's very annoying if it disappears in the mean time.

Yeah this happened with the bed sharing friend thread - one minute it was there next it was gone and I’ve no idea why!

@SophieLMumsnet that’s not the issue - the issue is we can’t see a deletion message but just a “oops we can’t find that page” message

It’s been reported several times and weeks ago but no resolve still

I've had a thread going since last week on this. I was told it was being looked at and nothing since. Absolutely no deletion message is present currently.

Does that mean we don't get to find out why anymore? Why hasn't someone just admitted that's the case.

Sophie, I was out for an hour, posted before I left on perfectly sensible thread and cam eback to whoops I can't find that page.

The thread was only a couple of hours old anyway.

I simply don't believe that in that time it has been reported, checked, deletion message posted, and then deleted. It seems to me that the deletion message stage is missing, or, possibly there are threads just vanishing.

But in the past you've left the deletion message up permanently?

Oh i had this the other day - posted on a thread (to be fair a pretty goady thread) & went back a bit later and 'Ooops we can't find that thread' - no deletion message - really annoying.
