Deleted posts / Suspension warnings - FWR

FWR - don’t groan, I can hear you from here!

There are special mod’ing rules and very keen outside moderators for the FWR forum. Infraction warnings and deletions feel arbitrary, and unfriendly from a user base.

To help us, your user base, it would be useful if there was a ‘deleted post count’ and ‘rolling total’ on our profiles so we’d know where we are. Specially as there is a rolling count over 6? weeks, and we are not generally advised on post deletion.

If this is something you’d consider, what would you need from us to facilitate this?

My query is not about changing or querying the mod’ing rules, but a question re having a deleted post count on our private profiles and the time served on those deletions. I’m asking because we have a 3 strike and banned rule, and most often we don’t even know we’ve had a post deleted.

Appreciate you’re snowed, I’ll update the thread so people know you’ll respond when things are a little quieter.

We're unlikely to add a deleted post count - we do our best to let people know when they've broken the guidelines - and we do send out a couple of warnings before we suspend for a period.
Banning someone comes at the end of a long (and hopefully fair) process. We have clear guidelines and we've fairly recently updated them (see previous email).

MNHQ a few people have said they have not gotten any preliminary warnings, just (surprise!) a final warning. Which then leaves them walking on eggshells lest a misplaced word gets them banned.

If people repeatedly breach guidelines (eg say banned words) fair enough to ban them. But some posters, I’ve not seen do anything untoward and suddenly they’re in Siberia ⛄️

Having said all that, I gather FWR is a pita to moderate and I appreciate all your efforts

Here’s an example of the nasty little gang of goaders making plans on Twitter, with tweets from @bespinuk and Joss Prior (who apparently has a whole drawerful of socks).

And Bespin a member of MN, is aka Bespinuk 👆, so not really ‘in the spirt’ now, and the only reason they’re still a member is because FWR users don’t victiciously or otherwise report or dog whistle other users.

Might be remembering wrong, but doesn't bespin claim to have no knowledge of how TRAs behave? That might be another one, but sure I have seen bespin talking about how they dont do twitter, have never seen TRA tactics before..etc.

I'd say that a legit name change is one thing but Joss, being banned under one account, has a bunch of others ready to switch to in order to wind MNers up.
