Hardware issues in your server centre?

@MNHQ , At the top of every site stuff thread is this message:

We're sorry for any problems on the site. This is due to hardware issues in our server centre. We're working on a fix, so please bear with us, MNHQ

Is this current? Because it doesn’t seem likely, given that the issue of the day is spam pop ups. Would a time/date on those messages help? Otherwise it looks like they’ve been left up from the last time there was a problem.

I could of course be betraying my lack of IT knowledge if the dodgy pop ups are indeed caused by hardware problems, but I don’t think that detracts from my basic point that a date on those site stuff headers would be helpful to avoid looking like a permanent catch-all message.

Hello there @FromTheAllotment - thanks for posting. The server issue happened on Monday and have been resolved - though there may be a few problems remaining which is why the alerts are still up.

We're aware of a further issue today with spammy redirects which we're in the process of sorting out.
