Advert obscuring threads

Every time I click on a thread there is an advert obscuring some of the posts
Ironically I came here to start a thread and the advert was waiting for me.

Thanks for raising this. This looks like Google adwords - which is based on your search history. It shouldn't be bang in the middle of your screen though! If you click the cross in the corner of the ad - does it disappear, or is it replaced with a different one?

Could you also let us know which browser and device you're using?

Safari on an iPhone.
If I click the cross it replaces the advert with a blank square
