Once you've logged on, how long do you have to be inactive before you get bumped off?

on mn?

ShinyHarryPplHoldingPortkeys · 27/07/2007 14:16

Erm... 30 days I think!

Tech · 27/07/2007 14:47

Hi, that's right. It's about 30 days. But you can also log out whenever you like by clicking log out at the right hand end of the the blue bar at the top of the page.

PrettyCandles · 27/07/2007 19:58

Hmmm. Then why do I find myself no longer logged on when I leave the computer for a while and then return - without having logged myself off?

There is a shorter time lapse one if you don't click on the "Stay logged in for 30days" when you sign in .

Tech · 27/07/2007 22:31

Sorry, PC, yes that's right. If you don't do "remember me" it's more like 30 minutes until your session "times out".

Jbck · 27/07/2007 23:15

Mine says 'stay logged on till I sign out' & I never actually sign out but get kicked out on a regular basis, mind you I have the same problem on the Ch4 fourms & thought it was something to do with my cookies or stuff.

Tech · 28/07/2007 00:40

That can happen, yes. If you aren't accepting cookies we can't keep you logged on.

PrettyCandles · 28/07/2007 06:19

I did wonder. Yes, we are fairly cookie-unfriendly at the Candelabrum (unless I bake them myself LOL).

Ta muchly for the explainaition.
