Is there any to see how far along I am in a thread..l

...when I'm using the app? For example, when I use Safari, I can see that I am on page 3 of 8 pages. With the app, I pop into a thread that I have bookmarked and can't judge how many posts to the end. It makes a difference regarding whether or not I can be arsed to RTFT before I post.

That is a good point! We currently don't have that in the app, but we're looking into ways of adding it, thanks for raising the issue.

Is it normal that when you watch a thread it always takes you back to page one on the app? Means I spend ages getting back to where I left off. I’m sure it wasn’t always the case?

@TheAnswerIsInABookSomewhere the only way currently of doing this is bookmarking the last post you read - although it isn't very convenient.
