Bookmarking issue - constantly jumping back

If I have bookmarked a place on a long thread, when I return to the thread and scroll for the further posts, the screen keeps on jumping back to the bookmark which makes long threads impossible to read as you can never read the newer posts because it jumps back. Any ideas?
