Bookmarking adds to watch list and creates notification I cannot dismiss.

I can see that MNHQ have been tinkering again...

On one of the posts I bookmarked it added it too my watch list (which I don't want and it never used to) and it also created a massive "added to watch list" notification which I was unable to dismiss and prevented me doing anything else on the page. I think it may have happened on this particular thread as I had no previous bookmarks?

Please don't make bookmarks add a thread to the watch list.

Please don't make notifications you can't dissmis...

Some experimentation suggests that this does indeed happen when a thread is bookmarked for the first time.

Please make it stop.

I am also finding this incredibly annoying. I bookmark every thread when I get to the end just in case I click again at some point. I don't want them on my watch list. I've checked customise and can't see how to change the option. I can't dismiss the pop up either, have to hit back to leave the page. This is the mobile site using Chrome on a Samsung phone.

Sigh. This is happening to me too. It’s like a big pop up (on the mobile site safari iPhone)

I really like the new bookmark button and I love that you've changed the colour of the bookmarked page.
But the massive pop up that won't go away is totally annoying! Please lose it. Why do we need that notification anyway?

Just came on to start a thread on this. It's very annoying (both things). I bookmark every single thread I read just in case but don't want it adding to a watch list.

And the pop up window thing telling me it's been added can't be closed. You have to close mn or your browser to get rid of it. I just had to restart my phone too as it was still there when I reopened mn!!!

Grrrrr.

I like the easy bookmark button and changing the colour of the post for ease of identification when scrolling through.

But yes the sudden added to watchlist pop-up notification is irritating and can't be got rid of.

I like the bookmark button and change of colour of the last post read BUT I don't want it on a 'watch list' as I only watch those threads I really want to keep up with, I bookmark the end of threads I might click on again.

The notification that doesn't go away is very annoying too!

As above, I bookmark threads I don't want to watch, and this pop-up can't be dismissed so it's making the process longer and LESS user friendly, not more.

Oh god stop it! I'm having to scroll to the top and unwatch every damn thread I read. Whoever thought anyone would want to watch every thread they bookmark?

The pop up notification fades away now, but it is still adding threads to the watch list when they are bookmarked for the first time - bookmarking threads used to be, and should remain, completely separate from adding threads to the watch list.

Reversal seems successful.

Can we have the wee clicky bookmark icon and blue highlighting back though, because that was a good thing. Just unlink it from watched threads?
