When did this become a thing?
Message from MNHQ: We have agreed to remove this for the OP

I’m used to the OP claiming they have been outed but starting 2 different posts with the same OP and getting both threads zapped is a bit odd isn’t it? Hmm

OP posts:

The message says they’ve deleted as OP is ‘distressed’. She’s only distressed because 99% of posters have told her she’s in the wrong. IMO it’s pathetic when posters pull this shit because they don’t like the responses they’re getting and even more so that MN panders to them.

Hi there,

We do understand how frustrating it is when threads are deleted, especially when many posters have taken the trouble to respond.

Unfortunately, we do sometimes have to remove threads, but our policy is not to simply remove them when an OP doesn't like the responses - it really is usually more complicated than that and we want to be sensitive to everyone involved.

Hope this helps but we do understand why you raised the question.

Op, there's many sites where the poster has complete control over their own thread. They can delete as they wish.

Here, if anything I would have thought it's more frustrating that permission has to be sort to delete a thread.
