Deleted thread suggestion (possible way to avoid TAAT's)

Hi MNHQ,

I've been thinking ... bear with me! Two of the most annoying things about MN are the threads that go poof, and place markers (IMO - I entirely agree that I probably need to get out more).

I don't placemark myself, I choose to "watch" the thread, and then bookmark where I'm up to. HOWEVER, that means (on the app at least) I then don't see any deleted messages. I am then guilty of searching for TAAT's to see why they went poof. I'm too much of a goody two shoes to start my own TAAT!

Would it be possible to have it so the thread stays on your watch list then watchers can see the deleted message when they click on the link? Surely this would then stop a few TAAT's being started as anyone who's interested enough to put the thread on their watch list will know MNHQ's official reason for zapping it?

Just a thought! Smile

It must be different on the app, I use the Desktop Site on a Laptop, when I put threads in 'I'm Watching' if they are deleted the thread title is there with the deletion message just as it is if the thread were in 'I'm On'.

Could MN not make it the same across all platforms?

I agree with you OP it won't stop all TAATs, or the wretched placemarkers, but it would cut them down.

Ah, does it? I never really go on mumsnet unless I'm on the app. Good to know that I can do it on the website...if only I could remember my latest log in details!!
