Trending/Discussions of the Day block

Hello,

Just to let you know that we're doing some testing on the Discussions of the Day/Trending block over the coming months. The first test, which you may already have noticed, is that we have removed discussions of the day from the block and have instead added a 'refresh' button which will allow you to load even more trending threads.

We're testing a new version of the trending tab because we've seen that it's used far more than the DoD tab, and we have a sense that users find that being able to keep up to date with the most popular threads of the moment is more useful.

We're planning a number of tests to help make the site more usable, and we'll let you know about these by posting here as and when they happen.

As ever we appreciate your feedback, so feel free to leave any comments on this thread.

So how do we find DoD? It's my go to when I come onto the site.

It flickers up just for a second in the block when I go on to the page, teasing me that it might still be there, but then it disappears.

@anonymousbird sadly the DoDs have retired, but hopefully the trending threads show you what are the most popular threads of the moment?

too bad! I really liked the DoD. Is that what is advertised to be sent to my mailbox? or is what you send to my mailbox just the top trending threads anyway?

@Borridge sorry it has taken me over a month to spot this! No DoDs were not the threads sent to you in the Mumsnet Daily emails. The Mumsnet Daily emails actually are the trending threads from the previous day.
