One gets messages removed from the inbox of the person you have sent them to?

Unfortunately that's not possible from your end. Though perhaps you could try emailing Mumsnet? Depending on the nature of the message you sent they might be able to help.

Thx, calsovip. No, I didn't think I could do it. But I had some inappropriate PMs which, when I went back to report them to mumsnet, had been removed by sender's request. So I assume the sender had requested that, but I'm baffled as to how that would have worked really, because surely the person responsible for deleting them would have read them (they were v short, you wouldn't have been able to not read it at a glance) and seen how inappropriate they were. So did the sender just say 'Sorry, I had a mad moment, I know I did wrong, my bad!', and the messages were removed, or what? Would they have been given a 'dont do it again, naughty boy!' message, or anything? And surely it would be more embarrassing to request removal of messages than possibly her away with it...?
I did report, but had no feedback from MY on what had happened.

No feedback from MN, obviously! Damn autocorrect.

Hi all,

PMs are removed when an account is de-registered from the site. In these circumstances, the user managed to de-register before we had an opportunity to ban. Sorry about that!
