Read threads suddenly not highlighted.

What it says really. Been in MN for far too long a bit this morning and suddenly it's not showing which threads I've read and which I haven't.

This has started happening for me again. Was a problem for ages last year and then seemed ok but happening again in the last few days. Using iPad Safari ( desktop version not app) version 12.1.4
