Went to use MN on iPad earlier. Had been logged out, as expected - fine. As I reported in the Site Breach thread yesterday, I'd been unable to log back in (experienced the same issues as others have reported where the log in page is unresponsive) so I re-registered with a new email address and changed my username very slightly (added 'The' at the beginning. Again, annoying but fine.
So, went to log in on iPad (ioS/Safari). Entered new email address, clicked Next, and on the 'enter password' screen, the email field populated with my old username, 'Tit...' without the initial 'The'. I assumed this was a cache/cookies situation so I went into Settings, Safari, cleared everything down etc and tried again. The exact same thing happened. I'm confident the cleardown has worked as I've lost my 'frequently visited' sites and autofill suggestions of sites I've been on recently/google searches etc and have had to log into other sites that I usually stay logged in on.
The email address I'm now using for MN has never been associated with my old username - it's a burner email. Why is this happening, @MHHQ? I find it slightly worrying that the site appears to be conflating a brand new email address with an old username. (I've had to log in via laptop to report this.)
