Hi guys
I live mn and have used the site in one way or another since 2007.

What I have noticed much more of late is that a lot more threads are being pulled .

It used to be much less policed. I've said in a couple of threads lately the site feels quite...."Orwellian " with much more censorship.

Are we not all adults here who can choose to hide threads or not read something we disagree with?

It turns out I was banned for an apparent disablist post which is odd considering I have a disabled son....
(Obviously sorted it but had to tell hq I would mind my manners in future).

What's with the policing of the site now?
So many of my watched threads are pulled it feels a bit pointless at times.

I think it's trolls mostly. The number of troll threads seems to have gone up significantly. MNHQ seem to let them roll and even when screamingly obvious for the clicks then pull. The moderation is fairly dire.

I don't think it is trolls.

There's no evidence of trolling before they get pulled anyway.

I've had threads pulled and I'm definitely not a troll.

It just seems when people complain the thread gets pulled .

The limerance threads have gone. (Ok maybe distasteful but not trolls!)

Someone on the feminist boards asked why they are getting silenced because their thread was getting pulled

I got mine pulled and I'm not a troll.

It seems if someone complains now the path of least resistance is taken.

Someone posted about support for a friend who was contemplating a late abortion.

Awful.

But not a troll. I've undergone a late abortion for medical reasons and was responding.

Hard for me.

Thread pulled.

Everything I look at lately is pulled.

Hi there OP,

Thanks so much for getting in touch.

We do try to avoid thread deletions where possible, as we know it can be very frustrating for Mumsnetters who have taken the time to respond, often with their own personal experiences, to then have the thread pulled.

The late term abortion thread you mentioned unfortunately was a PBP, so we took it down. Quite often, things behind the scenes aren't as they may appear to someone looking in from the outside.

We hope this clears things up a bit, and let us know if you have any questions.

Maybe I'm just unlucky but I e got 5 threads on my watch list or that I'd contributed to and all pulled.

Things seems to have tightened up a lot - the limerance threads for example- hadn't posted but it feels a bit like if a thread draws complaints it gets pulled.

There are loads of threads I find distasteful or difficult to read so I choose to hide or not read them.
