"Look perfect in every post" - ad on Mumsnet

Disappointed to see ads through threads on the app for “Facetune 2. Look perfect in every post”.

I don't have to rehash the unrealistic Instagram perfectionism, body shaming etc etc issues to point out why this surely isn't a great ad to carry. Any chance of knocking it on the head?

In still getting Facetune ads on the app. I think this is really poor - there are huge issues with self-perception/selfies/filters etc and I'm surprised to see MN getting ad revenue from an app that 'helps you look your Hollywood best' (according to an iTunes review). Yuck.

Agree totally with OP. MN can you respond please?

sirmione16 · 07/04/2019 22:40

Mumsnet have no control over what adverts you see I don't think.

MoaningMinniee · 07/04/2019 22:43

I think MNHQ can block particular advertisers and adverts if they are 100% against our ethos. Will be interested to see HQ response though.

Still seeing it. Even on the bottom of this thread. Where is MN? Do I have to report this thread to get someone to look at it? I thought this section was specifically for this kind of thing!

Hi there all,

Sorry it's taken us so long to get back to you. We have seen your posts but we've been discussing it at MNHQ as we don't currently have a policy on these types of adverts.

We will continue to discuss it as we haven't quite reached a conclusion yet but we'll definitely block these in the meantime.

Thanks - appreciate the response.

I see Facetune ads are back. Where did you get to with this? It's not okay.

Hi OP,

We'll find out and get back to you. Flowers
