The Weather topic.

As I'm sure many of you know GloriousMud & OhyoubadbadKitten are amazing amateur (their word) forecasters. Many of us look to them for weather guidance whether it be snow watch/gale warnings or heatwaves.

Wouldn't it be a nice recognition for all they do if The Weather topic came up on the list of topics in 'Other stuff' when you click on All Talk Topics?

Brexit is there (!) but I reckon we all talk more about the weather than Brexit!!

But ... Weather is already in Other Stuff (unless MNHQ has stealthily moved it just this afternoon) Grin

Yes, I know it is in other stuff, but when you go to all talk topics page HERE it's not one of the topics on the list - you have to click again to find it., iyswim

Yes, Gnothis - but if you go to all talk topics, you have to make another click to get to the page you uare showing!

I remembert (am old!) Living Overseas posters pleading for the same thing some years ago.

But the topics list is quite generic - education, health, books, pets etc. Of course you have to click on the topic title to then get a drop-down menu of all the individual topics.

X-posted. And I'm as old as you are - I know that for a fact!!

The A-Z list gives them all alphabetically, but who wants to scroll through all of that? And there are no topics that have their own individual listing, apart from Local Talk - everything else is grouped under a main heading.

Much as I'm in awe of our wonderful weather watchers, I don't think that Weather justifies a separate, individual and one-off topic.

Gnothis If you go to the link I provided at 15.16 today & scroll down to Other stuff you'll see that it says after it AIBU, In the News etc. Thosae links are directly clickable.

I'm not asking for a one off individual topic.

Ah, so what you want is Weather to be in the very shortened list, so you don't have to open the Other Stuff topic to find Weather?

I would rather read what the keen amateurs have to say rather than other ways, where it tends to be made up. Although I find Acue? forecast usually good.
it doesn't even just have to be for extreme weather it could be facts, or just chatting, my dm would have loved this thread. Sad she was a worrier and would hide under the stairs if it was windy or stormy Grin

Hi OP. We do also love the Mumsnet weather forecasts. Often more accurate than anywhere else! We tend to have the topics that are most used and most searched for in that short list, just so they're easy for folk to find. Presumably Brexit won't be there for ever though (please, God). We'll pass your thoughts on, but in the meantime what's the general feeling from others? We'll keep reading the opinions here so let us know what you think.

I would like the weather topic in the short list to easily find it, at the moment because it’s in the alphabetical long list at the bottom it’s easily missed.
