I used a different account but closed my email it was linked to and so I have this new one. One of the best features was the 3 dots or breadcrumbs that appeared next to a thread which gave you the option to hide the thread. This now doesn't appear now I'm using this new account. Do I need a minimum number of posts for this to appear again? I'm viewing using a browser on a Huawei pro P20 phone.

Hi there OP,

Is it possible you weren't logged in when you tried to do this?

You can definitely still hide a thread, so we're not entirely sure what's going on here.

Have you tried tapping on this arrow thing at the top of the page? That's where you'll find the "hide this thread" function these days.

Yep, I'm definitely logged in. I know you can hide a thread using that drop-down menu but you have to go into it to get that menu and most of the time I don't particularly want to see any content.

There used to be a 3 dots menu option where I've indicated on this picture meaning you could hide the thread without having to go into it.

Hi again OP,

Those three dots are available on the app - is it possible you used to use Mumsnet on the app before?

VanillaSauce · 24/01/2019 11:54

I know they appear on the app but I don't use the app because its so awful to use (sorry) so I've only ever used the mobile site version on my phone's browser - firefox. When you hide threads on the app you have to go back to the main menu then into the topic otherwise if you don't do this the thread you open will have the content of a different thread because the app's content string hasn't worked out you've hidden something until you go back a step.

They don't, and never have, appeared on the desktop site version so I think its a mobile site feature that no longer appears.

Hi there @VanillaSauce,

Thanks for your patience.

We're really sorry, as there is the option to hide the thread using the drop down at the moment, we don't currently have any plans to bring this back.
