Sudden data gobbling?

I had a notification, just now that I had used over 800MB of data, today. I checked and it was mostly Chrome, more to the point, ostly in one go, this evening.

Now, at the start of this hour, I very briefly clicked on a couple of mn threads, before putting my phone down and resuming my knitting.

I'm wondering if the same issues causing glitching might be eating data because it's a lot and I'm lucky that a new billing month starts tomorrow.

I've had this since MN have begun using autoplaying ads.
They use up a lot more mobile data than static ones.

Sorry if that sounds sarcastic, it wasn't intentional.

Hi there OP and @Becca19962014

Could you please send us a screenshot of the videos you're referring to that have been gobbling your data?

The clickstring would be really helpful too. You can find this by disconnecting from the internet, clicking on the video and then copying and pasting the URL it takes you to.

anya it's all ads that move which do it - and most now do. I've also found YouTube videos automatically playing sometimes as well I've flagged it before but nothing was done. It makes using the site very difficult for me because of my disability as well as data hungry.
