I read Mumsnet on my iPad using the full website, not the app. I read in bed and often fall asleep while reading, ending up with my face down on the iPad. My face will quite kindly open multiple new pages, or cause tick boxes to be checked! Quite sometime ago I did that and somehow reset some of my Mumsnet properties. Everything got sorted out again but one.

When I open a thread to read it, it always displays last posts first and first posts last. If it’s a multipage thread the OP first post is at the top of each page, so I at least know what the thread is about. If it’s one page I have to scroll down or click flip the thread.

I can’t find a way to fix this so that the thread displays first post first right from the start. Mumsnet tried to help but couldn’t figure it out either. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hi CanadianMum - do you mean the Customize function?
You click on the downward arrow next to Talk, and click on Customise.
The first item under Talk Options is Newest Messages at: and you can choose to have messages reading down like a book or Newest ones first.

Remember to press Save at the bottom otherwise the changes won't stick Smile

oh sorry, on my iPhone, in Customise the first item is:
Newest Messages
at Top or Bottom

then click Save Changes

YES!!! You've solved it. I changed the setting to "read down like a book". I thought I had tried everything, but obviously not. It has been driving me mad. I've tested in a couple of different browsers and it is working perfectly. I feel a bit silly for not having been able to solve it on my own, but thank you so very much.
