Android app dreadful

Using the android app for the first time and it's appalling, the scrolling is really lagging, juddery and nasty to use. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, so a top of the range flagship, and I haven't experienced this with any other app. Blimey, I can play the latest games and processor/ram intensive apps with no issue...is this app updated often?

After posting this I had to force close the app as it went off into some bizarre processing loop. Oh dear.

I gave up with the app and went back to using the mobile site in the browser.

Having updated to Android 9 (Pie) I thought I would give the app another go. Still dire.

Yup, mine keeps semi logging me out. Which is annoying. I'm not a huge fan. It's not terrible, but not great. iPhone version was better.
