Merging threads on same topic?

There can sometimes be up to 5 threads on the same topic when posters on a sub-forum haven't noticed that it's been posted previously.

Is it possible to ask for threads to be merged?

Thanks for getting in touch.

We will pass it on and discuss it at MNHQ, but at the moment it isn't really something we're considering - it could make threads really hard to follow.

I'm on forums where merging happens and people adapt to it if it's announced.

It can get tricky to track conversations that continue on different threads - it's like Groundhog Day. And the poor search facilities don't help matters.
